This document explains how; you will specify the number of verification steps required to register users, registered device and forgot pin, and how to configure each step.
The verification steps are only applicable if Haventec Connect is being used which was selected in the
Step 2a: Registration Options.

How many verification steps are needed in order to register users?
- Select the required verification options.
- Select One Step if you wish a single authentication step by email or SMS
- Or select Two Step if you wish two factor authentication by email or SMS Then by email, SMS or None.
- Note: the Configure Each Step will update in correspondence to your selection eg If you select One Step, the Two Step will be greyed out and will not require configuration.
Configure separate flows

- Select No or Yes.
- By selecting Yes, add new user / add device and forgot pin will be able to have different flows. For example: Add new user could send an OTP email and then SMS, add device could send an OTP to SMS and then email.
- Select No or Yes.
Configure Each Step
Configure the verification steps for Add New User, Add Device, and Forgot PIN for each of the verification steps you previously set eg One or Two Step verification.
Step One
- Add New User - for when a new user is added to the application
- Select Email should you wish your users to verify their authentication by email
- Select SMS should you wish your users to verify their authentication by SMS
- Add Device - for when a user wants to add a new device to their already authenticated user account eg already registered their laptop and now wish to authenticate via their mobile phone.
- Select Email should you wish your users to verify their authentication by email
- Select SMS should you wish your users to verify their authentication by SMS
- Forgot PIN - for when a user has forgotten their PIN and wish to reset their authentication
- Select Email should you wish your users to verify their authentication by email
- Select SMS should you wish your users to verify their authentication by SMS
Step Two (if two step verification was selected)
- Add New User - for when a new user is added to the application
- Select Email should you wish your users to verify their authentication by email
- Select SMS should you wish your users to verify their authentication by SMS
- Select None if you do not wish users to have a second step for this flow.
- Add Device - for when a user wants to add a new device to their already authenticated user account eg already registered their laptop and now wish to authenticate via their mobile phone.
- Select Email should you wish your users to verify their authentication by email
- Select SMS should you wish your users to verify their authentication by SMS
- Select None if you do not wish users to have a second step for this flow.
- Forgot PIN - for when a user has forgotten their PIN and wish to reset their authentication
- Select Email should you wish your users to verify their authentication by email
- Select SMS should you wish your users to verify their authentication by SMS
- Select None if you do not wish users to have a second step for this flow.
Please note that SMS is applicable for certain flows. So, SMS is only valid for 2 flows:

It is not valid to allow it to use SMS as the first. I.e. ANY flow where the user will be required to register entering a Mobile number - we don’t support this |
- When you have completed your configuration selections click Next.
